Eritrea proposes MoU with KAU

Counsellor of Eritrea embassy Tekeste Gebremedhin Zemug yesterday expressed high appreciation over the facilities extended to international students at Kerala Agricultural University.

"What I see is much beyond my expectations. I am happy to see the happy faces of Eritrean students here. I'll go back with sweet memories and recommend a MoU for wider cooperation with this esteemed university," he said.

The counsellor proposed a memorandum of understanding between Eritrea and KAU for fostering cooperation in education and research.

Currently, several Eritrean students are undergoing post graduate courses such as MSc (Agri) and MBA.

Zemug explored the possibilities of deputing KAU scientist to Eritrea for facilitating expert exposure to Eritrean students and researchers. He shared the experience on cultural heritage of India with the faculty and students.

The Eritrean government representative is on a two-day visit to the KAU. He held separate discussions with vice chancellor Dr KR Viswambharan, registrar Dr PB Pushpalatha, academics director Dr PK Asokan, College of Horticulture associate dean Dr CT Abraham, College of Co-operation and Banking associate dean Dr A Sukaumaran, College of Forestry associate dean B Mohankumar and Centre for e-learning director Dr P Ahmed.
